Farmlevel Story

Grown at 1,800 meters on Arturo Paz’s Finca El Guaco, this washed Pacamara showcases Blackberry brightness, Plum depth, and a Honey finish. It reflects the clarity and refined structure that define the Santa Barbara Mountains.

Arturo Paz comes from a family with nearly a hundred years of coffee experience in Peña Blanca. Today, he manages six farms across the Santa Barbara Mountains, but this Pacamara comes specifically from Finca El Guaco, a farm named in honor of a beloved childhood horse gifted by his uncle. The horse’s nickname, “El Guaco,” remained a cherished memory, and Arturo chose it for his farm as a tribute to the stories and relationships that shaped his early years. His investments in processing infrastructure, including a wet mill and facilities to support pickers with clean water, reflect his commitment to both quality and community.

A trained agronomist, cupper, and producer, Arturo’s influence reaches far beyond his own fields. His work at San Vicente mill helped pioneer Honduras’ modern microlot separation, now a cornerstone of the country’s specialty coffee reputation. He has earned multiple high placements in Cup of Excellence and continues to champion sustainable farming, forest preservation, and biodiversity. While he experiments selectively with new varieties, he focuses primarily on coffees he believes in, coffees that express both place and craft. This Pacamara embodies that philosophy, offering a vibrant, polished cup from one of Santa Barbara’s most respected producers.
