Behind the cup
A yellow honey process gives this Catuai its balance of body and sweetness, with moderate mucilage retention adding weight without sacrificing clarity. Grown between 1,900 and 2,000 meters, the coffee matures slowly, supporting softer acidity and a steady, consistent structure.
Each coffee is roasted to order. Orders ship within 2 business days.

Farmlevel Story

Efraín “Macho” Naranja and his son Kevin represent a multigenerational commitment to coffee in Santa Rosa de León Cortés, one of the highest areas of Tarrazú. At Finca La Obediencia, their work blends long-standing farming traditions with careful attention to quality, producing coffees shaped by the region’s volcanic soils and cool high-altitude climate.
The farm sits between 1,900 and 2,000 meters above sea level, where slower cherry maturation supports dense seed development and consistent structure in the cup. Cherries are selectively harvested and processed using a yellow honey method, a style common in Tarrazú that balances clarity with natural sweetness. Through close management of harvest timing and drying, Macho and Kevin continue refining their craft while building a foundation for the next generation of coffee production in the region.
