Colombia Saldaña Highlands

In the southern highlands of Saldaña, more than 80 members of the Asprasar Cooperative cultivate coffee on small farms averaging 2.5 hectares. After decades of internal conflict affected southern Tolima, a new generation of producers has returned to the region, helping strengthen its coffee community while pursuing Organic, Fairtrade Organic, and Regenerative Organic certifications.

Asprasar reinvests coffee profits into projects designed to strengthen both farms and the surrounding environment. The cooperative supports water treatment systems, produces organic fertilizer, and develops fertilization plans that help members manage nutrients more efficiently. Together, these efforts reflect a long-term approach to building environmental and economic resilience throughout the community.
