Jammy and sweet, this coffee from the Yirgacheffe region showcases the vibrancy of Ethiopian coffees. Notes of sweet cream balance each sip, making for a smooth and layered cup.

Farmlevel Story

Idido is a remote community in the Yirgacheffe region of Ethiopia and home to one of the oldest coffee-growing traditions in the world. It takes hours of air and car travel on paved and unpaved roads across mountainous terrain to get to the city and even longer to reach the farms. During harvest season, producers transport bags of cherries by motorcycle, horse or donkey to the nearest collection center. Then, the coffee is taken by truck to the central Idido collection center. The transportation is difficult, but the quality of the coffee is exceptional.  

Producers intercrop their coffees with native trees to help shade and fertilize their fields and add the compost generated from the depulping process. Idido coffees are fermented in tanks for 48-72 hours and dried on raised beds for 4-5 days.
