Colombia Dulce Misterio Farmlevel Reserve

Dulce Misterio is one of our newest relationships from Colombia, founded by producer Mauricio Duque after a long career in conventional coffee exporting. When his business closed in 2020, Mauricio turned that setback into an opportunity to pursue his goal of growing exceptional specialty coffee through a more sustainable and transparent model. After years of searching, he found his ideal location near Neira, Caldas, a region known for high elevations and volcanic soils that contribute natural sweetness to the cup. That character inspired the name Dulce Misterio, meaning “Sweet Mystery”.

Mauricio’s approach blends scientific precision with respect for the land. He uses tools such as Brix readings and fermentation controls to maintain balance while expressing origin character. On his 13-hectare farm, Pink Bourbon stands out for its elegant acidity and floral sweetness. Cherries are carefully hand-selected, floated to remove defects, then pulped, fermented, and dried on raised African beds inside parabolic dryers. Each lot is tracked separately until it reaches optimal moisture. The result is a pristine, high-elevation Pink Bourbon that reflects Dulce Misterio’s commitment to clarity, discipline, and quality.
