Farmlevel Story


From the celebrated slopes of Santa Bárbara, this washed Pacas lot from Denilson Madrid balances crisp Red Apple and ripe Peach with a lingering Toffee sweetness. Grown at 1,600-1,700 meters in the cool foothills of La Pẽna, it’s a structured and vibrant cup that reflects both regional clarity and generations of craft.


Denilson Madrid is one of our youngest Farmlevel partners, carrying forward a rich family legacy in coffee. He recently inherited La Pẽna from his father, Franklin Madrid, a longtime collaborator known for producing standout lots from farms like La Patepluma, La Fortuna, and La Pẽna. Now the third generation to steward this land, Denilson approaches farming with both curiosity and dedication, marking a new chapter in our partnership. Franklin continues to manage other farms and businesses in Pẽna Blanca, while Denilson begins to establish his own voice in the region, bringing youthful energy to a foundation built on decades of experience.


La Pẽna sits at 1,600-1,700 meters at the base of the Santa Bárbara National Forest, where cool fog and volcanic soil slow cherry maturation, creating exceptional growing conditions. The region’s combination of rich soil, low temperatures, and high elevation produces coffees celebrated for their vibrancy and complexity. With each harvest, Denilson is carving his own path, honoring family tradition while shaping the farm’s future.
