Bekele Yutute has emerged as one of Ethiopia’s leading independent producers, building on a foundation rooted in family farming. After years of selling cherry to local suppliers, he invested in his own site, allowing him to control both production and processing.

At Kokose, his team focuses on careful drying techniques that preserve clarity while developing fruit expression. His work with the 74158 variety has become a defining feature, producing coffees that are consistent, clean, and expressive.

Recognition through the Cup of Excellence has further established Bekele as a key figure in Ethiopia’s next generation of producers. His coffees reflect a shift toward producer-led export models built on quality, traceability, and long-term relationships.
