STORY

Nano Genji raised beds drying coffee

The Nano Challa and Genji Challa have been Verve staples and customer favorites for years, so we’re extra excited to have an offering from the sibling mill, Nano Genji. 

Slightly smaller than its neighbors, Nano Genji represents the harvests of approximately 600 smallholder farmers who deliver freshly picked coffee from as high as 2,200 MASL on surrounding slopes. It’s a powerhouse station for Agaro coffees. 

Rather than exposing coffee immediately to direct sunlight, coffees are first dried on shaded beds while being constantly stirred by hand to enable a more gradual temperature change, which is believed to strengthen and intensify flavors. This added step costs the mill days of labor and requires additional drying beds. We’re proud to reward their commitment to quality.
