Pierre Nzeyimana, the General Manager of Kamira, first began farming a variety of cereal crop along with coffee. In 2002, he made the leap by applying for a collection point manager role at a washing station in Ngozi. He had been working as the manager for 10 years while keeping his dream of opening his washing station front and center. Learning the ins and outs of the washing station operations for many years, Pierre was finally ready to make moves. In 2012, PROCASTA Nkanda Washing Station officially opened for operation in the Tangara Commune with the help from his wife, Leoncia, and their 3 sons. Pierre has vowed his station will always be committed to excellence while helping to elevate the farmers. With long and short term goals, Pierre has never lost his core focus; the farmers. When asked about the strengths of Nkanda Washing Station, Pierre immediately answered, "the farmers - they have put their trust in me, and I have put my trust in them." And "to make sure the farmers are happy and giving them a bonus," he added. The future of PROCASTA is bright. Pierre plans to slowly phase himself out from the day-to-day operations and have his sons step in after they each graduate from university.
