Farmlevel Story
From the storied mountains of Santa Barbara, Honduras, this award-winning washed Gesha from Arturo Paz delivers vibrant notes of Blackberry and Pineapple, softened by Sweet Cream and Honeysuckle. Grown on his Itacayo farm, named after a mythical forest creature, this lot reflects Arturo’s deep commitment to quality, sustainability, and legacy.
Arturo Paz is part of a proud coffee legacy in Honduras, stretching back 60 years to when his grandfather planted the first coffee trees in Peña Blanca. Today, the Paz name is synonymous with quality throughout the Santa Barbara region.
Arturo operates six farms, including Itacayo, named after a legendary Bigfoot-like creature said to haunt the Santa Barbara mountains. Arturo’s passion for coffee and stewardship of the land are unmatched. When not tending to his farms, he’s maintaining the forests around them, woodworking, improving his wet mill, or running his fertilizer store, all while being a devoted family man. In 2024, his hard work earned him 7th place in the Cup of Excellence with a Gesha from Itacayo.
This washed Gesha is a reflection of Arturo’s dedication: bright, clean, and brimming with nuanced fruit and floral notes. We’re honored to roast this standout lot as part of our Farmlevel Reserve lineup.
