Brewing Suggestions

Holiday Blend is one of those coffees that comforts you with its complexity from start to finish. The body is velvety smooth, the acidity is crisp, and just enough bitterness envelops the tongue with ease. Enjoy this coffee and make every day a Holiday.

STORY

Holiday Blend is a celebration of coffees from around the world and a story of how we source our coffee. This year, we’ve sourced three different coffees that come together to create a magical experience in your cup. We blended a washed coffee from El Salvador, a natural from Ethiopia, and washed from Kenya.

We have been purchasing this natural lot from the Guji Highlands region in Ethiopia for a few years. We generally consider farms with elevations above 2000 meters to be impressive given what we know about the agronomics behind coffee cultivation, so with farm elevations reaching 2300 meters and the complex and balanced flavors in our cup, we’ve been very curious to try Guji coffees — making this natural a perfect balance for Holiday Blend.

In El Salvador, Alejandro Valiente’s family has grown coffee in the Metapán region of northwest El Salvador for four generations. When he took control of the mill in 2010, he started experimenting with processing techniques, determined to showcase the potential of coffees from this region and to make his mark on the rising specialty community. Alejandro assumed a leadership role within his community, helping local producers develop improved processing techniques.

Kiaguthu AB is grown around the Nyeri region at the base of Mount Kenya. The Kiaguthu Factory is a part of the Othaya Farmers Cooperative Society, one of Kenya’s larger societies, with 19 different factories and more than 14,000 farmer members across the southern Nyeri region.
