Concord Grape, Almond, Balanced
Located on the western side of the Cordillera de Talamanca mountain range sits the region of Terrazu. This range contains some of the highest peaks in Central America spanning most of Costa Rica and spilling into Panama. Because of its close proximity to the Pacific ocean and Caribbean sea, a thick cloud coverage blankets Tarrazu, creating the perfect microclimate to facilitate slow coffee maturation. This extra special growing region produces refined acidity with intense flavors. El Trapiche brews a nuanced Concord grape acidity layered with sweet almond aromatics and a balanced body.
Santa Rosa 1900 micro-mill, established by Gelberth and Efraín Naranjo, has been producing exceptional coffees for nearly a decade. The family’s network of farms has expanded to fourteen this year. We’re excited to share this lot that comes from the farm El Trapiche, one of the highest elevation farms. Rows and rows of trees meticulously planted with absolute precision cascade over the rolling hills. The attention to detail is extraordinary. This Catuai lot is washed using impeccable local water then cleaned with a Penagos de-pulper before moving into fermentation tanks then raised beds to dry.
We believe the coffee experience is our responsibility from seed to cup. Coffee is our craft, our ritual, our passion. It drives us and inspires us. With this simple truth and responsibility we are bridging the gap from farmlevel to streetlevel.
