The Colbran Estate Farm has a long history that starts in 1963 when Ben Colbran moved his family to Papua New Guinea. He purchased a 600-acre farm and began planting vegetables then eventually transitioned to growing fruit. The delicious produce grown at Colbran Estate Farm was always sought out at the local market. As their popularity grew, so did their savings. Eventually Ben was able to purchase a sawmill which got him another step closer to getting his coffee production up and running. Today, Ben’s farm is now one of the most notable coffee producers in PNG. In 1979 the farm was sold and Ben moved to Australia but his son, Nichol, stayed behind to continue the work on the farm in partnership with the new owner. In 1997, Nichol was able to purchase the family farm and become the owner and estate director of Colbran Estate.
Any coffee that I order from Verve is delicious, I drink mine black as the coffee does not need anything to make it taste better.
Herbal and earthy like black tea
You will love it if you enjoy strong black tea. Earthy and herbal with no sourness like the Sumatra beans, but taste fuller than that. I am not sure how Kunjin tastes like but will definitely try when it is available.
Tried a pourover of this lovely coffee and had to have more. Perfect for a special Sunday morning personal pot or anytime really ;)
Coffee arrived timely, made a pour-over and it was delicious
We believe the coffee experience is our responsibility from seed to cup. Coffee is our craft, our ritual, our passion. It drives us and inspires us. With this simple truth and responsibility we are bridging the gap from farmlevel to streetlevel.
