The first sip brings back memories of fresh lemonade on a hot summer day. That memory then pairs with tropical notes of kiwi and a lingering taste of malt. This Honduran coffee is truly a treat.

We recommend this coffee for previous year's La Leona fans. Clean, tart, and balanced, Anibal Pineda has mastered the art of washed Pacas.

      Farmlevel

Anibal Pineda’s father was one of the first people to start growing coffee in this region of Honduras. Anibal now has beautiful farms sprawling across the mountains, but this coffee specifically comes from El Cielito. In 2012 he began to venture into specialty coffees. Following examples of neighbors that did well for themselves, Anibal and his brothers quickly learned how to prepare a micro-lot of specialty coffee. With over 1,000 trees, Anibal demonstrates great pride in his craft as he continuously prunes and manages each coffee tree. He has planted different varieties of fruit and shade trees across the farm to help the cherries grow with just the right amount of coverage from the sun. He is currently working on a small nursery for 100 gesha trees on the hill above El Cielito next to his house, appropriately named “La Casa.” There is no fear of losing the trail behind Anibal when walking through the dense mountainside of his farms; even if he is out of sight, you can hear him humming or whistling throughout the farms.
