Another fan favorite from Antigua, Guatemala, this year’s Pulcal Yellow Bourbon encompasses all of the delicate and exciting flavors we love about Guatemalan coffee.
Sweet and light like a fresh honeydew melon, this Yellow Bourbon from Guatemala reminds us why Pulcal is on our menu year after year. This coffee is well balanced with deep notes of ripe fig and nutmeg. We recommend this coffee to anyone who loves other Guatemalan favorites, such as Santa Clara or Hunapu.

Third-generation coffee farmer Maria Zelaya Aguirre, with the help of her nephew Luis Pedro Zelaya Zamora, owns and oversees their farm, Hacienda Carmona. Filled with historical significance, Doña Maria carefully and intentionally looks over Hacienda Carmona. Her attention to detail and love for the land extend beyond the coffee. She keeps heirloom rose varieties from Paris in her garden that sits just below the terrace of the beautiful farmhouse, once occupied by the President of Guatemala. Inside its walls hang pictures of the men and women who have run the outstanding grounds and transformed it into one of the most prolific farms in Antigua. Through the rows of Typica and Caturra trees, you’ll eventually come to a group of rows that are Bourbon. These trees have lived beautifully, producing coffees of micro lot quality for many years. Much like the aromatics of those roses transplanted from Paris, the Yellow Bourbon coffee’s flavor profile is infectious.
