Taffy could be an odd way to describe a coffee, but we mean that it is really sweet, similar to melted sugar with molasses. Its bursts of tropical punch are delicious over ice and refreshing.
Alexander Martinez has a following every time we launch it, and it very well should. Classically bright and fruit punchy, much like the pineapples and other tropical fruits it grows alongside.

If coffees could be seasons, what could be fitting for this one would be summer. Refreshing in flavor profile and tropical in acidity, we are always excited for its return to the menu. Microclimates like that of Alexander's farm, which push the boundaries of cultivable elevations in El Cedral, Santa Barbara; aren't just optimal, but imperative to the cultivation of the complex acids that define specialty coffees. Split between two lots - one of bourbon, the other of pacas - Martinez’s coffee is processed traditionally and dried on raised beds. We initially fell in love with his coffee in 2015 when it was first produced. It has grown and carried with it pineapple forwardness and complexity each year.
