When brewed, this coffee has a floral tasting profile like fresh, blooming jasmine. On the first sip, we taste white peaches and rounds out from the tartness of the cascara, which boasts hibiscus flavors.

Ethiopian coffees give us the best of both worlds: unique, vibrant acidity and the sweetness of fresh fruit. This lot of Sakaro is balanced and incredible for those that usually gravitate towards “brighter” coffees.

  • Story

Sakaro is a collection of harvests from neighboring farms. This coffee introduced us to a new terroir in Gadeb, and we couldn’t be more thrilled. We are discovering unique and delicious flavor profiles that stand out.

This coffee grows as high as 2,400 meters above sea level. We find that coffees from this region are characterized by vibrant floral bouquets and balanced acids of white peach.

The Sakaro washing station carries out pulping, channel-washing, and raises drying for 12-20 days after receiving ripe coffee cherry deliveries from local small-holder farmers.

Excellent

Finally found a truly delicious bean and roast combination. Sakaro. I usually prefer bright acidity, full flavor, med to light bodied Kenyan or Ethiopian. Bright and luscious has been hard to find in other respected roasters. Verve got me with this one. And their outstanding personal service.

Still the best

Had a bag of Sakaro last year and it was easily the best of 2020. Once again, Sakaro is the best all year. It’s the perfect balance of flavor notes.

Very impressed

This coffee was right in my wheelhouse, with great floral and honeycomb flavors. Excited to try other Verve offerings.

Sakaro

I'm beginning to really enjoy this coffee. I'm new to light roast coffee but after some experimentation I settled on a Clever Dripper, coarse grind, and 2 minute brew time.

Tastes Great, But Gives Me the Jitters

Sakaro is easily 5 stars on flavor alone, but I get too jittery when I drink it. I went back to Verve’s Kenyan coffees.

My new favorite single origin brew!

Loved the service and loved the beans even more ... got the Ethiopian Sakaro and I daresay I preferred this over more expensive single origin beans (lookinig at you Gesha!).
