The first sip hits you like a tart lemon pastry, but when experienced as a brewed cup, it is followed with warm vanilla sweetness. What this regional gathering highlights is both acidity and approachability. This coffee is excellent when brewed on a countertop coffee machine or for those wanting to break in their kettles.

Helpful Hints:
This is a coffee consisting of multiple varieties and is a collection of cherries throughout a region. What is translated into the cup is more of a showcasing of the region than one particular variety or process. This coffee is for those who enjoyed El Salvador Amor Y Sabor.

  • Farmlevel Story

    Farmlevel

Alejandro Valiente has a long history in coffee production. Three years ago, he began working with farmers from the micro-region of Montenegro on plant health, wet milling, drying practices, and helping them gain access to international markets. Having previously worked with Caravela coffee to build and manage wet and dry mills in Nicaragua, he hoped to eventually develop his mill to support the small community of Montenegro. This dream finally came to fruition in 2020.

Situated on the Montecristo Trifinio National Park’s southern edge, this area produces high-grown specialty-grade coffee with cool nights leading to slow maturation, increasing coffee complexity. Now, with support from Alejandro and surrounding farms interested in the production of specialty coffee, the community has been able to combat a lot of struggles of access to the market, from inconsistent yields and devastation of coffee leaf rust to aggregators paying unsustainable prices.
