Exciting mouthfeels often mark Kenya coffees and, due to their double fermentation, often have their audience among those who want lively acidity and “interesting” cup profiles. This coffee is exactly that. Situated alongside mineral-rich soil surrounding Mount Kenya, we find something reminiscent of fresh pine and a jam-like sweetness of candied oranges. Kabare is a Farmers’ Cooperative Society that manages 11 different cooperatives in the region of Kirinyaga. These cooperatives are known for detailed processing and excellent coffees. Coffees are picked upon ideal ripeness and are separated into various grades of density. Then they are washed multiple times with the final in fresh, cold water from neighboring springs. The proof is in the cup, and we are excited to carry this delicious and vibrant Peaberry from the Kabare Cooperative.
